Discover Yu Hsi

Yu Hsi is one of the standout dining spots in Taipei City, nestled in the vibrant Da’an District on Zhongxiao E Rd, Section 4. Located on the 3rd floor at No. 289, this charming restaurant offers a delightful mix of modern and traditional Taiwanese flavors, making it an absolute must-visit for anyone in the area.

From the moment you step inside, it’s clear that Yu Hsi places a strong emphasis on providing an authentic yet contemporary dining experience. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, with a modern touch that complements the city’s bustling energy. Whether you're stopping by for a quick bite or planning a more leisurely meal, the atmosphere is perfect for both.

The menu at Yu Hsi is extensive, featuring a wide array of dishes that highlight the best of Taiwanese cuisine. The highlight here is undoubtedly the fresh, locally sourced ingredients used in every dish. You’ll find everything from savory, melt-in-your-mouth braised pork belly to a selection of seafood that is both fresh and expertly prepared. For those looking for a lighter meal, the restaurant offers a variety of healthy options like vegetable stir-fries and noodle soups that are full of flavor without being overwhelming.

What really sets Yu Hsi apart, though, is its dedication to offering an experience that goes beyond just the food. The staff are incredibly attentive, always happy to offer recommendations and ensure that you have the best possible dining experience. It’s clear they are proud of their offerings, and that pride shines through in every dish.

One of the standout features of Yu Hsi is its ability to cater to various dietary preferences. Whether you're a vegetarian, vegan, or someone with a more traditional taste, there's something on the menu for everyone. It’s rare to find a restaurant in Taipei that manages to balance tradition with innovation so seamlessly, but Yu Hsi does so effortlessly.

In terms of location, it’s perfectly situated for both locals and tourists alike. Zhongxiao E Rd is one of Taipei’s busiest streets, with plenty of shopping and attractions nearby. Whether you’re taking a break from sightseeing or looking for a great place to eat after a long day of work, this spot is ideal. The restaurant’s location also makes it incredibly easy to find, as it’s just a short walk from the Taipei Metro, making it a convenient choice for anyone in the city.

If you're not sure what to order, don't worry! The menu is designed in such a way that you can’t go wrong. For a real taste of Taiwan, try the beef noodle soup-it’s a local favorite. The broth is rich and flavorful, and the beef is incredibly tender. Pair that with a cold Taiwanese beer, and you’re in for a treat. Another must-try is the signature stir-fried rice. It's a simple dish but one that has earned rave reviews for its balance of flavors and the perfect texture of the rice.

Many patrons return to Yu Hsi not only for the food but also for the warmth of the place itself. The consistency in quality and the welcoming environment have earned the restaurant a loyal following, and it’s easy to see why. Whether you're visiting for a casual dinner or bringing friends and family to share in the experience, Yu Hsi is a place that caters to all.

The reviews for Yu Hsi are overwhelmingly positive, with many guests praising the restaurant’s high-quality ingredients, delicious food, and attentive service. The casual yet refined atmosphere is often noted as one of the key highlights. Some customers have even mentioned that it’s one of their favorite spots in Taipei, citing the restaurant’s ability to deliver exceptional food and great value.

For those planning a visit, it’s important to note that Yu Hsi can get busy, especially during peak dining hours. It’s always a good idea to make a reservation in advance if you want to guarantee a table. And if you’re planning to visit with a large group, be sure to mention it ahead of time, as they can accommodate big parties with ease.

Overall, Yu Hsi is a true gem in Taipei’s restaurant scene. With its unbeatable combination of great food, excellent service, and a fantastic location, it’s a place that you’ll want to return to again and again. Whether you're a long-time resident of Taipei or a visitor looking for an authentic taste of Taiwan, Yu Hsi is the perfect place to enjoy a memorable meal.

  • An old type of dimsum restaurant has been trading for nearly 40 years. We have been here many times as kids with our parents. And today we bought our kids and family to come to the sunday branch. It was a lovely food journey shared over 3 generations.

  • So, so, so good! Surprisingly, it’s styled like a Hong Kong restaurant but the flavors lean more toward Taiwanese — and it works so well. Many dishes didn’t taste like traditional Hong Kong fare at all, but they were absolutely delicious! I loved almost everything we ordered. Huge applause to the chef for creating such a perfect balance using local ingredients. As for the dim sum, that’s where the Hong Kong flavors really shine — every piece was on point. The shrimp dumplings and pork and shrimp dumplings were absolutely delicious in every sense! This place is definitely worth the price, every bite was full of flavor and worth every NTD. Service is great. The food serve quite fast and continuous. The atmosphere is good, not that pretty but clean and bright, though the seating is a bit cramped. The bathroom is okay and kept clean.

  • Decent place for dim sum, not a lot of choices though

  • Nice food, good service and near the metro. I enjoyed it but it closes very early in a Friday night!

  • A well regarded large restaurant with a distinguished history. Nonetheless, i found it to be good Cantonese food but a little short on distinctive flavors. The five dishes for NT 560 is a good deal with some interesting choices. Keep in mind that rice and tea are extra.

  • We really enjoy going to this restaurant. You get to choose five of the many variety of small dishes, they are all wonderfully delicious.Plus you must order their 抄米粉, it's one if the best in Taipei. And all that for less than NT$1,000.
